about

Every person carries their own version of “baseline for normal,” immersed in what they grew up in and shaped by the unique challenges and hardships they’ve faced in life. It’s as if we are built on foundations that, like houses, can crack and shift from the strain. Drawing from my background in medicine and various hospital roles, I see parallels between the trauma we endure emotionally and the physical injuries treated in emergency rooms and ICUs. Yet, unlike physical wounds, emotional scars are carried by people as they continue with their everyday lives—working, raising families, and performing daily tasks, all while nursing deep inner pain.
This emotional turmoil can lead to conflicts and uncertainties in relationships, creating patterns that leave us feeling lost and disconnected. However, just as there are methods and strategies in medicine to heal physical injuries, there are ways to understand and address our emotional wounds. Through therapy and self-reflection, similar to doing groundwork in construction, we can learn to navigate our lives and relationships in healthier, more constructive ways.
Let this journey be one of healing, where we piece together the broken parts of ourselves in a way that fosters recovery and growth, rather than causing further harm to ourselves or others.
Introduction to the Murray Method
AnneMarie has been using Marilyn Murray’s model with her clients since 2008 and began a mentoring relationship with Marilyn in 2012. AnneMarie is a Murray Method trained Level I instructor.
The relational and simplicity of the Murray Method aligned well with the holistic approach to healing that AnneMarie was trained in with her medical background. Marilyn’s books fully describe the development of the model, so you are encouraged to read them. However, it suffices to say that the method was developed because of Marilyn’s therapeutic journey of doing her own work. Thus, the model was designed by a child as she healed her inner trauma areas and better understood how the pieces fit together. The model, now 40+ years later, has expanded with much broader scopes of instruments, providing for greater healing and the ability to understand the journey of each of our lives, including the epigenetics of our heritage as individuals.
This approach is unique to any modality available since it is unethical to replicate trauma in order to develop theory; this model instead was developed through her trauma, led by her 8-year-old self that held pain the 44-year-old Marilyn had buried so deep.
Services
Workshops
Opportunities for the community to engage in the relational tools based on the Murray Method founded by the world-renowned trauma expert Marilyn Murray. The method has more than 21 developed instruments to be used with individuals, couples, or groups. These workshops are structured with psychoeducational time explaining the instrument, followed by an experiential exercise, which allows for a personal application of what was just taught.
Level 1 Training
The Murray Method is a 4 level training for anyone interested in a more deep dive into the model. Level 1 is a 4 day training that includes much of your own personal work in order to gain awareness around how your life has and may continue to still impact you! As personal work is engaged it allows for a fuller and more comprehensive look at tools to use. This training is not exclusive to the mental health profession but also to those individuals working in many different professions. Many of the Level 1 participants have quickly used these tools to enhance their own work trainings and teachings providing their clients with further understanding. At this point these trainings are scheduled typically twice a year.
Intensive Work
What is an Intensive? Intensive therapy is designed to provide longer and more frequent therapy sessions over a shorter time span to accelerate your recovery. It can be done individually to be tailored to your individual needs or in a group to allow for more experience with others. Once completing an intensive, participants are eligible to attend Cohorts designed to expand their learning and reinforce relational tools.
Cohorts
Quarterly meetings designed to follow intensive work. These are a one day group setting to introduce a new relational tool along with a coinciding experiential activity. This structure serves to help effectively apply the new information learned.

“Overall, I cannot recommend this workshop enough. It was a transformative experience filled with learning, self-reflection, and practical applications. If you’re seeking personal growth and a better understanding of relationships, this workshop is a must-attend!”
